FAQ

How does the sharpening work?

The tool applies an unsharp mask convolution kernel directly to your image pixels. This enhances contrast at edges, making the image appear sharper without changing its resolution.

Which preset should I use?

Subtle for portraits (avoids halos), Normal for general photos, Strong for landscapes and architecture, Extreme for severely blurry images (runs 3 passes).

Can sharpening fix a severely out-of-focus photo?

Sharpening enhances existing edge information — it cannot restore detail that was never captured. It works best on slightly soft or compressed images rather than heavily out-of-focus shots.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Sharpening uses the browser Canvas API with pixel-level convolution. Your images stay entirely on your device.
